Team Building - There are 3 people on my list for sample machining. The main difficulty or hurdle will be I need them to work in university and not take work home. I am hoping my previous machinist will be able to come on board as she now understands the work, the attention to detail and more to the point - me. It has become apparent, a machinist who is good, will have the negociating power to dictate where she works from.
A Day in Paris - Had an amazing and very long day. Saw the most powerful photographic exhibition at the Photoquai museum in Paris called '3eme bienalle des images du monde'. some really amazing images.
Fabric Agent - The Italian agents had once again exhibited an amazing array of fabrics from design houses around Italy and France.
As always, I was able to find just the right fabric for my Empathy dress and Venus de Milo dress.
Exhibition Space - I have started looking into exhibition space in and around Shoreditch, Haringey and Vyner Street. The fees are quite high; £300 a day and £800 for 3 days. I will wait for the new year as timing is critical to the attendance. Our UEL exhibition is from the 14th-19th. I think early in the New Year may be a better option. January/February. February may clash with L.F.W. This may be a very expensive time to show, however the attendance pending on venue could be amazing. The date weather also has an impact as to whether people want to see it if there is 3/4 inches of snow!
